I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. –Gal. 2:20 (NIV)
Our new life isn’t our own. Part of Christian Mindfulness is maintaining a constant awareness that we’re in The Lord’s presence. We’re not waiting for it to arrive someday. It’s reality now. In addition, The Lord Jesus Christ is present in us by His Spirit at this very moment. We must meditate on these realities. We’re in Him and He is in us.
From time to time, slow down, breathe, and get in tune with this reality. You’re with The Lord Jesus and The Lord Jesus is in you at this very moment.
Much of current Christian thinking leans toward seeing Eternal Life as primarily something that will be manifested in the future. I don’t deny this future aspect; however, we need much more focus on the present one. We’re in The Lord Jesus Christ right now and He is in us. The I Am living in us brings Kingdom Life into us in the present moment. He who Was and Is and Is To Come is in us now. Of course that means in 100 years when most of us are no longer living in our present bodies, in that moment we’ll still be in the Lord’s presence.
